Au revoir, Vladimir

Jack Todd of the Montreal Gazette has written a brilliant "so long" article about former Expo and current free agent Vladimir Guerrero. Vladi is loved by the fans in Montreal, and he loved the anonymity the city provided him.

It is frustrating and sad to see him leave the team, even more so because the team is owned by Major League Baseball, which is refusing to raise Montreal's payoll enough to sign him. Funny that having a super star like Vladi play in a large market would offer more profit opportunities for MLB...

It really seemed like Vladdy had one of those Yankees / Dimaggio relationships with his team and city. That I am a Vladi fan and Montreal fan makes it stink even more.
