BarCamp Los Angeles is Coming
In November, Ian and I had dinner together--it was an LA-geeks-connecting kinda thing. Born from that dinner came the idea to put on a BarCampLA to meet more LA-based geeks.
What is BarCamp, you ask?
BarCamp is an ad-hoc un-conference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. All attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one. All presentions are scheduled the day they happen. Prepare in advance, but come early to get a slot on the wall. Presenters are responsible for making sure that notes/slides/audio/video of their presentations are published on the web for the benefit of all and those who can’t be present. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.
It's going to be in LA at a to-be-determined location on the evening of Saturday, March 4th, and all day Sunday, March 5th. ETech is in San Diego on the 6th, so BarCampLA could be a great stopover for people on their way to ETech from San Francisco.
