I like Michael Parekh's take on the newly-formed Obvious Corp

He posits that Obvious Corp may be using a studio model to develop web applications. So production is done by small studios like Obvious, and distribution is provided by the big Google/Yahoo/MS/NWS acquirers once a product gets enough traction to be acquired (i.e. YouTube, MySpace, etc).
