So I highly recommend
you do not see Windtalkers. It was the only movie of interest last night when we got to the theatre and The Bourne Identity was sold out, and About a Boy, Scooby-Doo, and Undercover Brother had already started.
Adam Beach is excellent, but Nicholas Cage displays fantastically poor range of emoting by slightly varying his one facial expression to express sadness, anger, pain, frustration, disappointment, hurt, and anguish.
John Woo goes beyond his toned-down Hollywood violence and jumps right into the graphic brutality of war, to a level where the viewer becomes desensitized to it simply in order to avoid fully comprehending the horrors on-screen and focus on the plot.
Woo can't save this movie from Cage's over-acting and a two-dimensional plot; save your cash and see something else.
