I've been sowing the seeds of goodwill
across the world. In trying to make some short-notice travel plans, I accidentally woke up my Ex-Roommate's Father in Bahrain at 6am, thinking I was calling my Ex-Roommate in Japan. Father gave me Ex-Roommate's digits, so I called and got Angry Japanese Man--definitely not Ex-Roommate. I tried again, and got Cheery-Sounding Japanese Woman on Answering Machine. Hoping it was Ex-Roommate's answering machine, I left a message after the beep only to be cut off by a second beep. Feeling like Mikey in Swingers, I called back and had to rush to get my message in between the two beeps.
Take that, Japan!
