My good buddy (and manager)

Syam asked me to stand up in front of the 40-odd people in the company today while he thanked me, and the minute he did I was like "uh-oh, I'm going to tear up." I don't do well with genuine, heartfelt, displays of emotion when I am the focus of the group. Maybe it's due to my love of deadpan irony.

Only a couple people noticed me dabbing at my eyes, though.

It's weird being on the way out of a company at a gathering where you are celebrating past successes and looking forward to many more in the future.

But I remind myself that hellzya, I'm looking forward to my own future.
