Hockey gets no respect in the USA

From a Toronto Star article today about the ratings for the World Juniors hockey tournament:
"So far, the tournament has been a colossal hit with viewers. TSN's four broadcasts of Team Canada games have averaged 970,000 viewers, already an event record. Both the New Year's Eve game against Finland and Sunday's win over Germany topped 1 million (1,081,000 and 1,009,000). Those are the kinds of numbers reserved for Hockey Night In Canada."

Heck, even though it's on TSN, it's not even being shown on ESPN's 100+ channel all-sports internal TV network. Disappointing.
