I found an indoor ultimate team to play on here

.

I posted on a newsgroup that I was looking for a team to play on, and I got this reply:

"Tell me all about yourself. But first, let me say that if you are a lazy, sloppy, selfish, arrogant knucklehead with a bad attitude, you can forget it.

I doubt that you're all of those things, but any one of those things would immediately disqualify my team's interest in you. I'm interested in you because you have an Islamic name and you went to a good school (outside of the United States - even better). I realize that my interest might be based on assumptions that don't hold true; that's why I'm asking."

I guess my answer convinced the captain that I am none of lazy, sloppy, etc., because I'm now on the team.

His answer to my question about what the team is like:

"The team members have known each other for a long time but we don't really care to be with each other outside of Ultimate. I think this is because everyone is at a different age, stamina, and skill level. The mix is awkward and everyone is usually resentful at the end of the game. This is mainly because the old players don't bother to play defense, the young aren't good at anything, and everybody tries to make up for it by playing spaz-hammer offense. I had to put this team together because no one else would pick me or any of our teammates onto the other teams. That's where you come in. I'm hoping you can put the brakes on any of the really stupid shit before it becomes chronic."

Sounds like it's going to be a fun season.
