No Grand Prix for you!
I missed the Montreal Grand Prix this past weekend. It was the first time in five years that I missed it. Last year (a surprising one-entry event), my friend Ian and his cool girlfriend Erin were passing through Montreal that weekend, so I flew up from Boston to hang out and soak in the city. It's a great event--a TON of money, loads of expensive cars, and many beautiful people flood the city for the weekend. Combine that with Montreal's live-and-let-live attitude and penchant for beer drinking outdoors, and it's a can't-lose occasion.
Mental note: I have not been to Canada since February, and not been to Montreal since December. (Yes, that was an obscure Parker Lewis reference.)
Heading to Vancouver with Geneve on Thursday--she's never been there, and I haven't been there in a while. It will be good to see Chloe and Becky. Then on to Saskatoon for Shakey and Natasha's wedding.
It will be great fun, but it will be the first time I have missed the Montreal Jazz Fest in six years! I'm breaking streaks, and I don't like it.
Gotta get back to Montreal soon...
