Decompressing
The folks at AP paid for an open bar at Sequoia, a nice patio in the Georgetown-ish area, which is situated right on the Potomac river. JLog and I enjoyed the sunshine with Julia, who works at a law firm in D.C., and Meredith, who was volunteering at the workshop and was en route from California to Toronto.
Afterwards, Ali, JLog and I had dinner in Adams Morgan, and swapped silly stories of coming into contact with famous people through work. Ali's best was when he elbowed Newt Gingrich out of the way to get into an elevator that at the time was designated for use by Congressmen only.
Just got back to my room at the Watergate Hotel, which is quite nice. I can understand why the Democratic National Committee had their headquarters here back in the day--my room is listed at $420 / night, and JLog's suite is listed at $720 / night. 'Course, AP got us (well, ESPN) a sweet $125 / night rate.
