Snow falling on suburbanites

It snowed here for about 36 hours straight, starting Friday evening.

Staring out the window on Saturday night reminded me of the first snowfall in Montreal; all was peaceful and quiet. The road outside my window was covered by an unmarked blanket of snow, no cars having ventured the unplowed street in several hours. The streetlights provided the only light, in which I could see the snow gently falling. Geneve was fast asleep on the couch, and I resisted the self-defeating urge to disturb her peaceful slumber so she could experience the tranquil scene outside.

So I gazed out the window a little longer, lost in thought and enjoying the moment.
