Saw Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King tonight.
I have to say, it was the best movie I have seen in a long time. While slow in places, the story moved at a much quicker pace than the previous two installments. The cinematography was, as usual, stunning. The battle scenes were of such scale as to put the Helm's Deep battle in LoTR: The Two Towers to shame. There was much more character development (particularly with the Hobbits). Instead of being bored during many of the drawn out dialogues (as I was during past films), I actually cared about what was being said. I highly recommend it--if this movie does not win multiple Oscars, it'll be time to count the dangling chads again.
And for what it's worth, Rotten Tomatoes gave it 136/139, which is 98%.
