Unwire
There is a dearth of pay WiFi spots in Montreal (especially ones that are accessible at this hour) but I seem to have stumbled onto some Gold here at Cafe Supreme on St. Laurent. According to the Interweb, there was supposed to be a Tadaa hotspot here ($9.95 for a 24 hour pass). When I arrived here, however, I was pleasantly surprised to find a free hotspot available for use.
And so here I sit after finishing fixing some League Manager 2.0 bugs, watching the crews clean up the rubbish left behind from another successful St Laurent Street Sale, along with the hoochied-up McGill frosh in search of their next drink.
Tremendous.
Update: The wireless access point is called "www.ilesansfil.org", which translates to "island without wires". Ile Sans fil is a non-profit "devoted to providing free public wireless internet access to mobile users in public spaces throughout Montreal." God bless those free wifi hippies.
