A Giant Leap Forward
The San Francisco Giants will offer replays via their existing wireless network at SBC Park next year:
From next season SBC Park, home of the San Francisco Giants baseball team, plans to offer Wi-Fi users instant replays on demand, possibly even of different angles on controversial plays. In addition to instant replays, the Giants plan to add a wireless feature so fans can order food online for delivery right to their seats.
Last May, Ev brought his laptop to a game at SBC, and posted pics to his blog from the park.
Why?
"Just because I can," he writes.
Next year, he will bring his laptop to SBC because doing so will provide a better game experience than going without a laptop, especially considering MLB's policy of only showing close plays once or twice on park scoreboards.
I liked SBC the first time around; a wifi-enabled park with useful services for the fan will likely necessitate a return visit next year.

Imagine if every NHL team was that committed to improving the game-going experience for its fans.
I know this isn't a unique sentiment, but the NHL sure could use an owner like Mark Cuban to turn the establishment on its head.
Too much homogeneity is a bad thing, especially when you should be constantly innovating to battle for the entertainment dollars of a public that has more and more options.
