Blood, Sweat, and New Websites
In the span of a week, I've gotten emails from three different friends about the interesting things they are up to.
Andrew Rowat is a photographer who jets between Shanghai and New York, and he just launched his site on the heels of doing some interesting work for Business Week. We go way back to doing our Grade 7 French project together, so I know he'll get the job done and he'll do it with creative flair.
I worked with Anna Bremner back when I was was with a non-profit in Boston, trying to find a cure for ALS. Anna is a spectacularly interesting person, and I think the pieces from her new jewelry endeavor reflect her spunk and passion for what she does.
Finally, I have only corresponded with Eric over at OffWing (having narrowly and unfortunately missed each other after attending the greatest World Cup of Hockey game I've ever witnessed), but he's a good guy. I might not agree with everything he writes, but the posts on his blog are always thought provoking. OffWing is up for the 2004 Best Sports Weblog Award, so if you read his blog and enjoy it, you might want to send your vote his way.
It is inspiring to see friends achieve while following their passions. Andrew, Anna, and Eric deserve all the success coming to them, because they've worked damn hard to earn it.
