Amazon Ties Blog Content into Site

I don't know if this is new (a search on Technorati and Pubsub turned up nothing), but Amazon now pulls content from around the web into some of its lists (look at the rightmost column in the pic):

It's an interesting attempt to bring the mass of information on the web into context with respect to making a purchasing decision.

I like this idea because one of the first things I do when I'm considering the purchase of a new product is go read Amazon's customer reviews. The second thing I do is Google for reviews of the product. Amazon is bringing the second feature closer to the first, moving closer towards being a true one-stop shop.

I'm not sure the relevancy of the content is there yet, but it's a variation of a personalization problem, and personalization is one thing Amazon does very well.

Update: Sujal pointed out to me that a Google search turns up more results (and that the feature launched in August). Yeesh, I must need more sleep--I didn't even think to check Google.
