Umair says America is obsessed with The Useful
A focus on The Useful is driven by short-term thinking, which means there's very little room for creativity. But creativity, fueled by passion, is what drives innovation. It's why Google's 20% time is such an attractive perk--useful is important, but creativity is exciting.
