No Tsunami of Support from Amazon

Surprisingly, it was difficult to find a link where I could donate directly to a tsunami disaster relief fund. Of the Red Cross, UNICEF, Oxfam, and World Vision, only Oxfam made it (relatively) easy.

After 9/11, Amazon had an easy-to-use donation form that benefitted the Red Cross (I believe), and a running total of all donations collected. It was amazing to see how quickly donations piled up by refreshing the page a couple of times, and seeing such tangible evidence that every donation counted inspired me to donate more than I had initially planned.

Since Amazon's 2004 holiday season was Amazon's best ever, surely they could devote some homepage real estate for a day or two to help out the millions affected by yesterday's events in Asia?

How about it, Mr. Bezos?
